The Westport Story
Westport is a charming town within Connecticut’s “Gold Coast.” Though its small Orthodox community is decades old, there has been a marked rejuvenation in recent years, when Rabbi and Rebbetzin Yosef (Greg) Wall moved to town. A daily Minyan formed and several families became Torah observant. In recent years, there has been a steady flow of new Jewish families moving to town – and looking to move – particularly since the Covid-19 pandemic hit and families fled the larger cities. Rabbi and Rebbetzin Wall have inspired several local women to begin observing taharah, but many others have not joined due to the lack of a local mikvah. B’ezras Hashem, upon the completion of the comfortable, modern Westport mikvah, the ranks of taharah observance will grow markedly.
