The Richmond Hill Story
This fast growing Toronto area city is a magnet for young Jewish families, and a beautiful new community center houses two Shuls: one for the fast growing Bukharian community, in addition to the primarily Ashkenazic “Country Shul.” A beautiful mikvah is being built in the basement, one that will be the only handicapped accessible mikvah in the region. The mikvah will be particularly beneficial for the close knit Bukharian community, which does not feel like they currently have a mikvah of their own. Hundreds of families in the community have been brought into Torah observance and/or enrolled their children in Jewish schools over recent years, and there are over 3,000 unaffiliated families currently residing there. This beautiful mikvah will, with Hashem’s help, exponentially increase taharah observance and the community’s overall kiruv prospects.
