The Poway Story
This tranquil city near San Diego has approximately 5,000 Jewish residents, roughly 10% of the city’s population. Many young Jewish professionals have moved to Poway in recent years, infusing vibrancy and potential into the aging community. The mikvah, which is located in the back of a beautiful Chabad center, was aged, worn out, moist and hot. The closest pleasant, up-to-date mikvah was forty miles away. Some locals made the trip, but many did not – instead staying home or using the old mikvah with a heavy heart. Mikvah USA helped the local community complete a comprehensive renovation project to make the mikvah modern, upscale and very comfortable. The facilities are now enjoyed by previous users as well as many who have now begun observing.
