The Mountain Lakes Story
The Mikvah Project encompasses three towns: Mountain Lakes, Boonton, and Denville. Most residents are unaffiliated, lacking a frum Orthodox presence aside from Chabad, which aims to support all Jewish individuals in the area. This vibrant community features a highly-rated public school, making it an attractive destination for young families. There is a consistent influx of these families, with several thousand Jewish households in the region, the majority of whom are not frum. Currently, mikvah usage is low due to the absence of a local facility, which hinders encouragement for its use. However, with the establishment of a new local mikvah, it is anticipated that observance of taharah in the community will significantly increase, bez”h.
