The Milwaukee Story
Milwaukee is a large metropolis at the shores of Lake Michigan. Though known for its breweries and the Harley Davidson factory, Milwaukee is home to a blossoming Jewish community that is becoming a destination for many because of its schools, high schools, kollel, batei medrash and affordable housing. Because of Milwaukee’s size and it being a business hub the city also sees many business people visiting and considering moving there. There are one hundred and fifty Jewish families living there and the existing mikvah is constantly used. Even though this mikvah exists, is location in one of the local shul buildings which makes its use uncomfortable, especially when trying to attract new users. In addition, the current Mikvah is outdated and no longer accommodates the growing size of the community. Mikvah USA is working with Rabbi Twerski and the local community to build a new, attractive mikvah a in a private location.
