The Flushing Story
With some 100,000 Jews of various levels of observance in the area, the current and potential demand for a mikvah in this section of Queens is massive. Rabbi Mendy Gadaev is in the process of building a mikvah for the 200-plus members of his community and others in the neighborhood. This mikvah will come to great use for those unable or unwilling to walk to the nearest mikvah, in Kew Garden Hills, on Shabbos and Yom Tov. The option of a small intimate mikvah is also expected to be”H bring additional locals – who were wary of the concept – into the fold of Tahara observance. Mikvah USA is working closely with the local Kehillah to bring this important project towards completion.
