The Dix Hills Story
This upscale Long Island hamlet over 200 children in its Jewish educational institutions and nearly 1,000 congregants in Shul on Yomim Noraim, but unfortunately only a small number of locals were taharah observant in previous years. Most residents with a connection to observance would not travel the distance to the mikvah, especially given that its condition was not up to par with their expectations. Now that Dix Hills has a luxurious modern mikvah in the heart of town, taharah observance has increased multifold and many residents sense a closer connection to Torah and mitzvos.
