The Charleston Story
The oldest and largest city in South Carolina has seen an influx of young Jewish families. Charleston, founded in 1670 and named for King Charles, is defined by its cobblestoned street and antebellum houses, is a port city at the Atlantic Ocean and beautiful place for young families. Congregation Dor Tivkah, a growing shul in the Charleston suburbs, is comprised of enthusiastic members in various stages of their religious journey. Most of the young families live in the Dor Tikvah area and are in desperate need of a local mikvah. With over ten thousand Jews living in the vicinity a new mikvah will hopefully attract many of them to this special mitzvah.
